Why Remodel in '15
Remodel news when we talk about daycare?
I have always tried to make these simple concepts. During the daycare scenario there is but one main goal, and whole lot of secondary and inconsequential goals we must balance fairly.
After Spending 3 decades in my family's kennels, I came to the conclusion that environmental standards of the utmost quality is the difference of importance. How many times a year do you want to go to the vet and request them to drsin your accounts. We would all say as few times as possible. It is in no way an insult; I feel the same about going to my Doctor from time to time.
When we completed the remodel we advanced our mechanicals to that of Beaumont or another hospital-like environmental purity reuquired working environment.
After years and years of experience, we know how to ensure that pets are safe, comfortable and stress free while separated from their families. Whether boarding for a week or visiting for doggie daycare or a grooming appointment, we ensure your dog is happy, healthy and comfortable for the entire duration of his stay. Here are just a few of the ways we accomplish this:
-
Our facilities are built to filter out and/or mute disruptive outdoor noises such as thunder, traffic, trains, etc. Indoors we have soothing classical music playing all day while colorful TV programs air on multiple, silenced flat screen TV monitors.
-
Our pets, just like us, are used to well lit and well decorated homes. Our resorts are decorated with colorful murals enhanced by the use of skylights wherever possible.
-
Dogs are separated by size and temperament.
-
To provide further peace of mind to pet owners, we offer 24-hour webcam availability. If space is available, owners will be able to visit their pet while enjoying the resort either at rest in the suite, at play with a group or on an outdoor walk.
-
Finally, our facilities are staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year so your pet is never alone in the facility.

Part 2 - 2-Way Communication
The most important part is understanding that Daycare / social play & even socialization w/ a few others can all have possible liabilities attached and much like any park we cover some and definitely not ALL incidents.
A client's false expectations of Group Play:
-
My dog will be out in group all day
-
My dog is guaranteed to love our group environment
-
My Dog will be allowed to be the Alpha dog when we start
-
There is no harm picking my dog up during play
-
My Dog will act the same in group play as he does in the dog park
Our Reality & the reality which should be communicated to all owners at ALL kennels and boarding facilities.
-
Your dog will be in 1or 2 of 3 or 4 groups in during the course of the day; each is 2 hrs+ & then those pets are rested. This prevents fights as some dogs tire and get snippy.
-
We guarantee very little...our prices, our principals, and our quality of staff and our facility. We cannot guarantee the ability to adapt each and every dog to our methods. When we cannot we will tell you by the 3rd stay after exhausting all options.
-
Absolutely not. First timers go through a strict regiment upon their first time. They may not make into a group as we temper test and small socialization groups. This minimizes the risk to the new client and all the pets during a given day
-
Picking your dog up unexpected without a minimum of 2 hours notice is not an option at our location. We require the time to prepare your pet for departure and any possibility of removing a dog from an active group causes injury 1 in 10 times. In an emergency, it requires the entire floor to drop what they are doing and protect the other 20-30 in group to remove your pet - fee $25
-
This last bullet is a belief held by many owners about all departments. It is based on the idea dogs have a norm in an unfamiliar environment or they act as they do at home. This is never the case. There is an enormous amount of new smells and sounds to adjust to. These sensations become pleasant for pets after they are used to and are as inviting and calming as your t-shirt (which we do not allowed - see what to bring.) Your pet may
-
Be excessively tired a day or two
-
Get a case of loose stool from the initial adaptation
-
Refuse food or affection for a day or two
-
Vomit a time or two
-
Act unusual - Like people all new siuations cause some stress. It is impossible to guess these quircks in general behavior. They do go away fairly quick - Remember, just like school these pets pick up on on some less desirable traits like barking or mounting...we do our best to limit these behaviors with positive reinformcement. Please, do the same at home.
